Kilowatt Ours, a solutions based documentary to the growing energy crisis will be shown at the United Methodist Church on Madison Street at 6pm October 14. SOARE and XEM will be cosponsoring this event, with liquid nitrogen ice scream served afterwards.
Formed in Fall 2005, SOARE works to educate the public about the benefits of renewable energy and the environmental damages caused by traditional fossil fuel energy sources such as coal obtained by mountaintop-removal coal mining, which involves blasting tops off mountains and dumping spoils into valleys, according to their website at www.apsu.edu/SOARE.
