Foy Fitness and Recreation Center was open on Labor Day so, after I worked out, I wanted to be a good student and study at the library, but it was closed.

"I choose to have the gym open on Labor Day because the residence dorms were open. There might transportation issues for the residents and the gym is a good outlet to relieve cabin fever," David Davenport, director of University Recreation said.

Davenport also mentioned that it was very costly to remain open on holidays but they track usage in order to determine demand.

Now normally the school library is open more hours than I would ever dream of going to, however it does occasionally close for holidays because of a perceived lack of interest and staffing issues according to Joe Weber, Director of Library Services. He added that if there is a demand for more hours, students should work with the SGA.

The hours of operation for the library are listed on its Web site, www.library.apsu.edu.

So there was no conspiracy to keep me from studying, oh well. If you have any questions that you would like answers to about this campus, e-mail me at jcameron15@apmail.apsu.edu.
