New Coordinator for Fraternity/Sorority Affairs named

Lombardozzi is a recent graduate of North Carolina State University, where she earned a Master of Science in Higher Education Administration. She also holds a Bachelor of Science in Graphic Media with a concentration in Communication Studies from Rochester Institute of Technology. Full story

APSU opens at the Renaissance Center.

APSU and Nashville State Community College (NSCC) held an open house for Austin Peay @ the Renaissance Center in Dickson Thursday, June 11. Several members from the APSU, NSCC and Dickson communities were in attendance. Bob Spencer, assistant executive director of the Renaissance Center, said now citizens of Dickson can get a degree right in their own back yard. Full story

President, students address more alumni activity

President Timothy Hall conducted an executive meeting with students and members of SGA Monday, April 20. Hall asked students to address the issue of transitioning from a student to an active alumnus of the university. “Probably every university experiences this, especially those with a large commuter feel,” Hall said. Satellite campus to offer more courses

APSU and Nashville State Community College students will have more class opportunities and easier access to these classes by this fall semester. Classes will be offered at the Renaissance Center in Dickson. The registration for courses at the Renaissance Center began Monday, April 6, and will continue through Aug. Full story

Sororities jump for St. Jude’s philanthropy

Several sororities around campus made pledges for a predetermined period to spend on the huge trampolines at the Intramural Field Friday, April 24. The band, Passenger Creek, played live for them from 4 p.m. until around 8 p.m. They were also handing out new healthier energy drink, Blue Frog. Full story

Fudge reveals relation to Patsy Cline

Not many students have ever seen a celebrity, but APSU sophomore Andrew  Fudge is the grandson of one. Fudge, as his friends call him, is the grandson of Patsy Cline. Writing Papers on a Deadline

You failed to compare dates and see a major paper is due in every class during the same week. Panic sets in. Now what?  “I usually go into shock for a while and procrastinate even more, its like, if I don’t do it maybe its not really going to happen, and then I just one day get crazy inspired to go all out on all the work for hours and hours,” said Howard Thomas, a second year grad student in education. Govs lose fifth straight OVC series, fall to 18-25

With a depleted pitching staff, and 75 total hits between both teams, the APSU Govs (18-25, 4-9 OVC) dropped their fifth straight Ohio Valley Conference series (9-12; 9-5; 3-13) to Southeast Missouri (25-16, 11-4 OVC) the weekend of April 25 and 26. In game one of the doubleheader, the Govs posted a seven-run third inning to pull away in the first game. Full story
